As was announced at practice on Tuesday, the leaders for the 2009-2010 season will be:
Brooke C. - Weapon/Rifle Line Captain
Cassie - Flag Co-Captain
Lauren - Flag Co-Captain
Rachel - Team Coordinator
Not to worry, we plan to let you all know who is doing what, so you know who to go to with ideas or questions. After the five of us have a chance to meet and iron out the details, all of us will sit down as a group and talk about it in more detail.

Thank You for an Amazing Dance Camp!!
Girls,
You all surpassed my expectations for these last two days. Aside from the amazing amount of techniques, combinations, stretches, across-the-floors and barre work you learned....you were incredibly disciplined. And you represented the group extremely well with your drive, focus and eagerness to learn.
I don't think I could be any prouder of you than I am right now. :) Thank you for making the camp such a success.

Dance & Mini Camps: Family & Friends are Invited!

Just a reminder that family and friends are invited to come watch the last hour of our Dance Camp on Saturday June 20th and the last hour of our Guard Mini Camp on Saturday June 27th.
They will be able to watch you all review and rehearse what you've learned during the camps - and also watch a performance (or two) of the dance routine you'll be learning. This will give you a chance to show off all that you've learned, and also give everyone a chance to get back into the performing groove without a ton of pressure.
Parents - if you are able to attend, please come out and support the girls and all of the hard work they will have done.
Who: Guard Members' Family & Friends
When: Saturday, June 20th @ 4:30pm
Where: Tippecanoe High School Gym
Why: To support the girls & see all they've accomplished!!
The Dance Camp will be held in the high school gym and you are welcome to arrive as early as 4:00pm. Just come into the gym and have a seat in the bleachers. The girls will be doing some of their barre work, across the floors and several run throughs of their dance routine as well. (Location for Mini Camps TBD)
Hope to see you there!

Summer Uniform Shirts, Gloves, Jazz Boots & Practice Equipment
Order forms for summer uniform shirts, gloves, jazz boots and practice flags/rifles will be handed out at the next rehearsal.
Money and forms are due by June 27th (for summer uniform shirts) and July 30th (for everything else).
SUMMER UNIFORM SHIRTS - $12
These are a requirement, you must have one. They are worn at football games in warmer weather, in addition to any parades or other events we perform at.
JAZZ BOOTS - $20
For the fall show you will need BLACK jazz boots ONLY. You do not need to purchase nude boots this year. If you have a pair already, make sure they're in good enough shape to last you the entire season.
LEATHER GLOVES - $10
If you choose to wear gloves, they must be nude colored, leather, fingerless gloves. Again, if you already have a pair of gloves - please make sure they're in good enough shape to last you the entire season.
PRACTICE FLAGS - $15 & RIFLES - $32
(added 6/11) If you do not want to purchase a new flag, the old orange and black silks are available for free. Poles will be provided once everything in the guard room/closet has been inventoried.
I will also be ordering practice flags and rifles for anyone who might want their own to keep at home. Once these have arrived, NO flags or rifles will be permitted to be taken out of the guard room except for shows or rehearsals. This is to ensure that we always have the equipment we need (read: nothing gets lost or left at home), and that it stays in the best condition possible.
Flags will be a curved rectangle shape and you will have the choice of pink, purple, teal, orange, royal blue or green. The poles will be 6' poles from our current inventory and will be free of charge.
Practice flag, 6' pole & set of new crutch tips - $15
Rifle w/bolt & strap (will come assembled) - $32
All checks need to be made out to Tipp City Music Boosters.

Shirts for Band Camp
I'll go over this at rehearsal on Thursday, but wanted to have it here for reference.
For Band Camp, we are all going to be wearing the same color each day we are there. The shirts can be in any style you like (short-sleeved, tank, cami, etc), as long as you have ONE of EACH of the COLORS BELOW. I'd prefer them to be solid, but am fine with a small design or lettering on the front (this will hopefully allow you to use some of your current clothing, I don't want everyone to be forced to go buy a new wardrobe).
1) RED
2) BLACK
3) BRIGHT or FOREST GREEN

4) ROYAL or NAVY BLUE

5) MEDIUM or DARK PINK

The shirt for the 6th day I will supply, and they will all be the same shirt. We'll use the matching shirts on the last days of dance and mini camps when your parents and friends are invited to attend the last hour to see what we've accomplished and watch a performance. :)
TIP: Old Navy has stretch tanks in all of these colors 2 for $10 and short-sleeved tees in most colors for $10 each. (Click the links and you will go directly to each shirt style on their website.)
